Inspired by the prestigious Archibald Prize, this competition celebrates personal connection and storytelling through art.
Heritage College would like to invite all artists to create a portrait of either Simon Dodson (Principal) or Leah Crawford (Deputy Principal) that explores not only their physical likeness but also their contribution to the HCLM community.
Prizes will be awards for each Artist division, as well as an Overall winner, Principal's Choice, Deputy Principal's Choice, People's Choice and CAPA Faculty Award.

DETAILS OF ENTRY:

Create a portrait of either Simon Dodson (Principal) or Leah Crawford (Deputy Principal) that explores not only their physical likeness but also their contribution to the HCLM community.

Suggested Approaches: Environmental portrait, symbolic portrait, expressive portrait, realistic portrait, mixed media portrait, photographic portrait, digital portrait or sculptural portrait. No AI.

There will be time to sit with them face-to-face to observe and sketch, and you can use photos for reference, and a video will be made available to use for reference.

Create your portrait in any 2D manual medium (no AI, no digital drawings ie - procreate) eg. painting, drawing, or mixed media

Size can be any size between A5 and A2.

Complete the submission form with a 200 word statement explaining: Who the subject is, Why you chose them, How you engaged with them during the process, and What you learned about them and how this influenced the way you made your artwork.

Prizes will be awarded for each Artist category, as well as an overall People's Choice Award.
